The quantity of a product to be inspected separately is called a lot.

Different products, even if they are produced at the same time and place, should not be controlled together.
For example, if there are two different products to inspect, there should be two product inspections.

ISO 2859 definition for “lot”

“Definite amount of some product, material or service, collected together.”
“Each lot shall, as far as is practicable, consist of items of a single type, grade, class, size and composition, manufactured under uniform conditions at essentially the same time.”
