During production

Fabric-Cutting Control (FCC)

Cutting the fabric with precision and in accordance to paper patterns is of prime importance. Compensating in the sewing workshop for cutting errors is very difficult, and often impossible. Certain elements should be controlled before cutting, and other during/after cutting.

Before cutting, we can control the following elements:
• The rolls of fabric are not too long.
• The fabric has been laying for long enough, and is not wrinkled.
• The cardboard/plastic shapes used for drawing are conform to paper patterns.
• The drawings used for cutting are precise, and never too small.
• The thickness of the piles is not excessive.
• The grain line of the fabric (i.e. the direction of the threads) is respected.
Note: this list is appropriate if you send us your own paper patterns, and the factory cuts by hand. In other cases, we can prepare a different check-list.

During or after cutting, we can control the following elements:
• The cut pieces are conform to paper patterns (in particular, the sharp angles and the notches). In all sizes, and from top to bottom of the piles.
• The cut pieces are correctly identified and dispatched.

You will then receive a report (with explanations and photos) about the conditions and the results of the cutting process.

In-Line Inspection (ILI)

An easy way to notice quality issues is to go in the factory during bulk production.
At this point, the products are not packed, sometimes not even trimmed, and only a portion of the order is available for inspection. But this type of control prevents many last-minute surprises.

We inspect some finished products (for aspect/workmanship conformity, No. of defects, and measurements).
Then we check how each process is performed, and whether the operators have the right information (e.g. measurements during production).
If we find some workmanship errors, we notify the factory about it and we see whether their solutions bring improvement.
We also ask the factory to start packing a few products to check whether they have understood your requirements. These packed products can be used later as reference for the workers.

You will get a report detailing the defects and non-conformities we found, along with their causes and the solutions we propose.

Samples Random Picking (SRP)

This service is appropriate in cases where you want to inspect, or run some tests in your premises, on a few products representative of mass production.

We act as a third party to come in and pick the samples in a totally random manner. We count presented products and pick a few pieces for you.

At the same time, we can inspect these products ourselves, and send some/all of them to you by express mail.
